UPDATE FROM THE DOMINICAN REPUBLIC:

Greetings to all our prayer supporters, friends and family.

We have continued to support relief efforts for Haiti from here in the Dominican Republic, mainly assisting the Christian Reformed Church here in collecting and organizing aid, and to begin to receive and house injured refugees who are discharged from hospitals. On Friday, I was able to help a team of doctors that were stranded at a hotel to get to the airport and catch a flight to Haiti. We are anticipating a larger role in the rebuilding efforts that have yet to begin.

I wish I could do more. You may be thinking the same thing. Here are a couple of ways that you can help the relief work:

Through CRWRC, which is well placed and equipped to apply resources. CRWRC Haiti relief Agape Flights is actively recruiting medical personnel through various agencies, and assisting their arrival has been flying supplies and personnel into Haiti. (www.agapeflights.com)

The Christian Reformed Church in the Dominican Republic is looking for medical volunteers to provide follow-up care for the injured refugees that are being received at the church’s ministry center. E-mail me for more info.

Sandra, Hannah and Mark were supposed to be coming in on a late flight tonight but it looks like they won't make the connection in Miami, since their Newark - Miami flight took off about 4 hrs late! I’ll have to wait until tomorrow. Boo hoo.

Thank you all for your continued prayers and support.
