Youth Ministries

Youth Worship

Our youth ministries help young people draw closer to God!

Middle school and high school students face unique challenges as they begin forming important beliefs and relationships that will give direction to the rest of their lives.  Our youth ministries help young people find God’s will for them.  Check out all the programs we offer by clicking on the links below!

Youth Group

Our weekly youth group meeting is the heart of our ministry to young people.  Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., middle school and high school students come to play fun games, meet new friends, sing together and learn more about Jesus. Join us as Aaron Mamuyac, our youth director, looks to God’s Word to find the true meaning of our life and guidance for everyday living.  More than anything, though, we study the Gospel of Jesus Christ and rejoice in forgiveness we find in him!

Mission Trips

Mission Trip 2012 01smSunlight offers annual mission trips for its young people.  These short-term trips last one week and give our youth the chance to put their faith in action by spreading the Gospel and serving in the name of Christ. In past years, we have served at centers for at-risk youth and the homeless and travelled to Puerto Rico.  We have also helped with various construction and community outreach programs. This year, we will travel to Guatemala to share the love of God.

Acquire the Fire

ATF1Each year, we attend weekend conferences that introduce teenagers to Christian speakers and bands. It is a great time as thousands of students come together  to encounter God and to be set apart from the influences of the world.  If you are interested in going on this trip, please talk with Aaron.

Passion 2013 121cHigh school seniors and college students gather in Atlanta each year to lift up Jesus’ name and pray that he would raise up a generation that seeks his renown first.  The Passion conference features the teaching of John Piper, Beth Moore, Louie Giglio and others.  Worship leaders include Chris Tomlin, David Crowder, Kristian Stanfill and more!  In recent years, the students in attendance raised more than $3 million to combat modern-day slavery and bring freedom to those in chains.  Join us next year to be part of this exciting movement of God!

Youth LockinTwice each year, we open up the church for an all-night party — dodgeball, midnight concerts, food, games and more! Our lock-ins begin at 9 p.m. and end at 7 a.m.  It is tons of fun and well supervised!  Check the calendar to see when the next lock-in is scheduled!.

Our youth go on many fun trips throughout the  year — camping, paintball and ice skating, just to name a few.  These trips offer a great sense of community and help the students build lasting friendships with one another. Some of these trips involve a small fee.  For details about the latest trips, please contact Aaron at the church office of visit the youth group’s Facebook page
